Do Life: The Official Nationwide Unofficial-5K Tour.
In the wake of the emotional high we are feeling from the NYC meetup Saturday, we’ve decided to go ahead and announce the summer tour we’ve been planning for the past month.
It’s something we’ve committed to do, whether or not we have the backing of sponsors, just because it’s one of the coolest things we can ever imagine doing.
Who: You, me, Pa, Jed, Sherman, and whoever else wants to come along. Invite your mom, invite your dad, invite your annoying aunt that always pinches your cheek a little too hard.
What: The idea is to gather at a health locale of some kind (gym/hospital/running store, etc), share our stories (short speeches from Pa, Jed, and me) and then hit the road for 3.1 miles (walk/run/jog, whatever). Followed by a hangout at a local food court.
When: June and July 2011.
Where: 29 cities across America and one in Canada for a total of 30 cities. We missed a lot of cool cities (What up, Minot, North Dakota??) but really tried to hit 30 great ones.
Why: Because, if there’s anything the Chicago, Boston, and NYC meetups taught us, it’s that Internet people—particularly Internet people with awesome stories—are the coolest people ever. And because it’s going to be a lot of fun. Well, those things and, most importantly, because you guys will get to meet Jed and Pa and sympathize with me and the ridiculousness with which I deal on a daily basis. Personally, I can’t wait.
——
30 Cities. 40 Days. 1 van. 10,000 miles. Hopefully we can avoid the casinos.
Get excited.

Is it crazy that I want to do this?
I am so not a runner.
(But I want to be? Maybe?)
Would deciding to do this force me to look at running as something I NEED to improve on — because I have a deadline? Is this the push I need to force myself out of my comfort zone?
I wouldn’t do it alone tho… hint. hint.
The dates are all June-July…so thats reachable. Right?
